I really never have anything exciting to post about in the winter months, and during the summer months I am usually to busy to write anything.
I am back in school...its busy..hopefully i get a job out of it...I am now off for 3 weeks, where I am looking forward to sleeping in and not really doing much other then that. Try to get together with some friends and thats about all.
I went for a weekend trip in October to Charlotte for the Nationwide and Cup races... was a sweeet time!
As for more racing news.. we werent as successful in the 2008 NASCAR Canadian Tire series as 2007, but we ended up 3rd in Owners Points. Andrew ended up doing the nationwide race the weekend of our last race...
That is all the news I have...If i think of something I will try to post again!

Well, nothing new really.
My ankle is still sore, it is going on just over 2 weeks now. Doctor said it would probaly hurt for 6 months.. which really sucks.
This is my ankle one week after the sprain, while we were in St. Eustache for a race (which got rained out)

St. Eustache was race 2 or 13, which we didn't end up racing due to rain, so now we are re-scheduled there for July 5th.

We are off to Mosport Road course this weekend, which is where we won last year, so I am really excited for this weekend! Even though it will be a really longggg weekend!


Larissa and James had there little baby girl, Jaela! She is so adorable!

She is the first baby I have ever held and I was so scared at first! But once i got use to it, it was all good!

Well our first race was on Saturday.
We were at the shop till about 2am loading, home at about 2:30am..and up at 5am to be at the track for 6:30am..
We then unloaded, and teched, then practiced, teched again, and qualified. Andrew started 10th and Alex about 20th, there were Issues with Alex's car all day long.
Between qualifying and the race, I ended up spraining my ankle, didn't hurt me to bad at the time, so i kept walking around on it... my dad then said "i guess you won't be doing catch can tonite" i just laughed at him! By the time race time came around my ankle was getting pretty huge, but still not extremely sore.. but as the race went on the soreness got worse.
By the time the race was over i walked down to the 7 pit once and it hurt pretty bad... We ended up finishing 17th, and 20th...ya that sucks...
I didn't help load up because i could barely walk anymore.. and i didnt want to mess my ankle up anymore...
I walked over to get my car and was spent.. We were at the track until about 11:30.. we then drove home, when Tammy and I got home.. i got out of my car and I could barley walk.. I almost had to get carried into the house...
We had a couple drinks at home... i sat with ice on my ankle.. everyone said i should go to the hospital on sunday..
So sunday afternoon my mom took me to the hospital, we left here at about 1 and then after i got all registered and talked to the nurse, i got in right away which really surprised me the doc talked to me and sent me off for some x-rays..the x-ray tech must of taken about 10 x-rays of my foot/ankle.. i was then back to emergency sat there for a couple min then got called back into see the doctor.. nothing was broken so i was good to go! Just got told to keep off my feet for a week or so..
So i got home and called work to tell them I couldn't work for the week..they told me i needed a doc's note.. i told them i went to emergency, they still said i need a note.. so today we went into our family doctor, and they won't give me a note without seeing my doctor, so i have to go in to see her on Thursday ...
Here is a picture of my ankle for you, this was taken today and it happened saturday around 4:00pm... I think it is more sore and swollen now then before.

Well racing starts this weekend!! That is exciting!
We gotta be at the track for 7am.. so need to leave here at about 6:30.. which isn't really to bad!!
Our race starts at 7:35pm. So come out and cheer us on!

How race weekends go!

This weekend is an easy weekend, since we are only testing..
-Go to the shop on Friday Night to load up (if it is a saturday race, if not.. its usually the night before we head to the track) we usually leave the shop around 2am, but sometimes we get lucky and leave the shop at about midnight.
- Get up early (depending on where the race is) Sometimes we get up at about 4:30, sometimes 6:30..
-Go to the race track, usually for 8am..then spend the day at the track, teching, practicing, qualifying, racing, and tons of other fun stuff :)
-We then usually leave the track around 1am..and get home around 3am...

Am I crazy or what?

But this weekend is an easy weekend..lets hope! haha

Testing

YAY! We Finally get to go racing, well testing! I am wayyy to excited!
I dont know if i am more excited to see cars going around, or seeing all my racing friends! lol

Well Well,
Where to start, our races season starts in less then a month and we are petty far behind so i hear, our engines aren't even done yet, and we test in a short 2 weeks. No body thinks that our cars will be ready for the race let alone the test, but everyone always pulls together and we are fully prepared and ready.
Haven't been up to much lately. Saturday was the Nationwide race in Talladega, DJ practice and qualified awesome! We knew the race would be good! He was running strong in the top 10 all day, then after the "big one" he had made it up into the top 5! We were stoked, and going crazy! He ran strong in the top 5 for quite a while, they then went to commercial and came back, they took a quick shot of the field "hmm i dont see DJ" I thought to myself.. or out loud rather.. next thing they show DJ hooked up to the tow truck.. I honestly almost started BALLING my eyes out, and screaming and yelling... wow.. it was crazy.. but I think no matter what he did awesome and showed everyone down south what he is made of! Which means more then anything!

My brother now has Wii mario Cart it is a kick ass game...!
Other then that the weekend was pretty boring

Randomness

So not much happening lately..
Race season is quickly approaching our first test date is May 10th at Cayuga, apparently there is a tailgate party following.. so you should come check it out, to come sit in the stands and watch us test is free too! YAY! how much fun is that!!
The Martina McBride concert was AWESOME, Johnny Reid and Emerson Drive ROCKED as well! They did awesome!
Pheniox night race party rocked as well! It was a good time.. as expected!
Other then that not much exciting happening..Now it is time to start planning the party for the summer time!

Things I am excited about!!

1. Martina McBride, Johnny Reid and Emerson Drive Concert on March 28th with Tammy!!
2. Phoenix night race Party at the Robson's!
3. NASCAR Canadian Tire Series First race on May 24!
4. James and Larissa's Baby Arrival!
5. Going to Montreal for our race and the Nationwide race! Good times to be had there!
6. Maybe going to Sprint Cup Race in Michigan if we have enough crew members to go to Three Rivers and I can take the weekend off.
7. Summer in general!
8. Getting my car out!
9. Getting my tan back!
10. Big party in the summer time!

Probably much more but that is all i can think of for now!

Hemm!

Well not to much exciting happening. I am very tired tonight. Getting very anxious awaiting spring time and race season... I can't wait for racing to being, and to see all of my racing friends again! I also can't wait to get my car out, and start to get a tan again!

There are a lot of rumors going on about our racing schedule due to the IRL and Champ car.. being one series.. they want to change there edmonton date, so that messes our western swing up.. and they want to have it July 27th, and Montreal August 2nd, so we would have to travel from one side of the country to the other in a couple of days.. and hope that nothing is wrong with our cars.. jeeze!

I am planning my party for summer time, should be a good time!

Also having a St. Patricks day party, which i am starting to get ready for tomrrow:) I do love to plan parties, I think I should become a professional party planner! So if you need a party planned lemme know!

Yay!

Finally! The third race of the season Patrick has finally made a race! He got screwed out of the first two, so it is nice that he finally got to race his way in and he starts 12th! Yay!! So now tomrrow is Nationwide qualifying, and lets hope DJ can make it in!

Other then that.. hmm our racing season is going to start soon, only like 86ish days to go! yay!

So this weekend will including watching racing and probaly.. eating pizza!

Good Weekend

This weekend has been a good weekend. I didn't have to work on friday because they were closed so that was a bonus!

Saturday was a good day! The Nationwide race was on! DJ ended up 33rd which is very good for his first attempt on a super speedway! So that was awesome!
Yesterday was the Daytona 500! We went to a Party at the Robson's! I went up earlier to help make Jello shooters! I think we made 300ish probaly more. I drank a lot! It was a good party! We had lots of fun! Ryan Newman won, it was nice to see a different winner every once in a while.

Other then watching racing i didnt get up to much... Today is Family day... just like any other day.. we are all sitting at home doing the usual! But it is a good day to have a holiday. the day after the Daytona 500!

WoooHoo!!

Today was Nationwide Qualifying... after 3 hours of qualifying DJ finally went out.. with the go or go homers... he was 2nd last to go out of 53 cars... He starts 18th! Awesome for him!
So my sadness for Patrick has been over lapped by Happiness for DJ!

Patrick Carpentier

So, Today were the Gatorade Duels at Daytona. Which set the field for the Daytona 500 on Sunday. As i see it they have made it pretty damn confusing to set the field.. but that is NASCAR for you. So the first duel went well, Dale JR won... but I was waiting for the 2nd Duel... which Patrick was in.. He was doing AWESOME and up to like 7th since he is a go or go homer he had to be 1 of 2 of the go or go homers to make it into the race, and for 75% of the race he was the first go or go homer.. ya confusingness.... then he started getting lose and tapped the wall a couple of times until he eventually blew a tire... :( Man i was so upset I was yelling and screaming and punching the table.. but that didn't help him get in... I have no voice left right now from it... If it would of just been normal qualfying he woulda been in
For those of you who don't know why I was so upset that Patrick didn't make it is becuase: In 2006 he drove our race car in CASCAR.. and since then I have followed his career and stayed in close contact with his "people" as we call them, we email each other back in forth with updates about each others teams and what not... so i have a personal connection to Patrick. It was so much easier watching racing when everyone was on equal level.. me not knowing any of them... haha... so that is why I was so upset that he didn't make it...

So other then that.. ya not much is happening.. Watching Truck qualifying right now. Tomrrow we will be watching Nationwide qualifying cheering on another Canadian DJ Kenningtion.. And we will be watching the Nationwide race saturday.. and of course Sunday we will be watching the Daytona 500 . I am not sure who I will be cheering for.. Probaly Kasey....

Cold!

Today its very cold outside. I was just outside with DeLana and we almost froze. Not as bad as last night though.. it felt like i got frost bite it had to have been about-35 with the wind chill...

So today we aren't up to much. My mom is attempting to design crew shirts for her and I. I just give her my input since I can't draw worth a crap. So it is a pretty boring day, although its nice that the sun is shining!

We are thinking of opening up a business, but not sure what kind of business. Any Ideas?

Hmm...

Well today while my mom and I were out DeLana thought it would be a good idea to eat the couch... Good thing our furniture is old.. but still, we were not very impressed. I guess we may have to get the crate back from my neighbour and put her back in there while we go out again.

So I have been on a job search big time this week... I've been applying left, right, and center it seems- Printing out application's, applying online, sending e-mails, taking applications in.. you name it...I applied online at McDonalnds,, not being serious or anything.. and they called me back... not sure if i wanna do it.. but i have an interview on Friday... as of now Money is money and something will do for now until race season starts up again.... I also got a call from IHRA today which i applied at about a month ago, I am suppose to fill out a form of weekends I am free of when I can work and send it back to her... So I am patiently waiting for the final NCATS schedule so I can fill that form out.. so maybe i can do both NCATS and IHRA.. that'd be awesome:) I also took my application into Tim Hortons today and The Beer Store, but since I can't really work evenings or weekends, the beer store said nooo wayy thats when we need you... That is the extent of my job search so far, who knows what else I will hear this week....

Tomrrow (if the weather is half decent) I am going to go out and do some shopping with Larissa, then I am going to get my eyebrows done in the later afternoon..

We canceled our tickets to Lima for the AMA flat track race, even tho we dont know the NCATS schedule yet... we figured if the race doesn't fall on the saturday we will just buy a general admission ticket... we won't cancel our room until we for sure know the NCATS schedule...:( But the Lady was good about it, she is going to hold our usual tickets for 2009:)

Anywho, thats all I can think of for now...

Boring

Well it's Saturday night and im sitting at home (no susprise) but I am bored tonight.
Since I lead a boring life, i've figured maybe i would start blogging some more... Might give me something to do...
So maybe tonight I will list a couple of things that I am looking forward to in the next couple of months
- Next Saturday my neighbour is having a lil get together.. we will eat lots and drink lots:)
- The Daytona 500- Marie is having a party.. we will drink lots. I am going to help Tammy make Jello Shooters, and I am going to make a baileys cake.
- I may be working a couple days for my dad as he WON a trip to the Daytona 500.
- The NASCAR Canadian Tire Schedule coming out, so that I find out if I can go to the AMA Race in Lima Ohio.. and so that I can start planning our big party.
- Possibly going to the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada in London, if it doesn't fall on the same weekend as a race.

Thats all I can think of for now..
